PITYRIASIS VERSICOLOR (P.V)

Definitions :
Pityriasis Versicolor (PV) is a superficial fungal infection that is chronic and asymptomatic due to Malassezia furfur invade the stratum corneum of the epidermis of the skin

Predisposing Factors :
Pregnant, birth control pills, severe illness, genetic, plasma cortisol levels are high, the air hot and humid

Clinical Symptoms :
• Itching when sweating
• Macula white, red, and brown
• There are two forms :
   a. macular
   b. papular

Laboratory
1. KOH: "Spagetti and Meatballs"
             Short hypha like the letter I, J, V
2. Wood lamp: yellow

Management
A. Topical Drug
     = Dermatophytosis
     + - Solusio Sodium thiosulfate 25%
        - Solusio Selenium Sulfate 1.8% - 2.5%
        - Solusio Zinkpyriton 1%
        - Solusio Prophilen Glycol 50%
B. Oral Medicine
    - Ketoconazole
    - Itraconazole
