SUBCUTANEOUS MYCOSES 
AND SPOROTRIKHOSIS

Definitions :
subcutaneous mycoses
• fungal infections of the dermis, subdermis tissue, and bone
• As a result of stab wounds
• Fungi in the soil saprophyte rotting garbage

Sporotrikhosis
Fungal infections of the skin, subcutaneous because 
Sporotrix schenkii with special features such as node 
suppurative lesions along the lymph flow

Clinical Symptoms
• Sporotrikhosis Limfokutan (most often)
• Nodules on the side of inoculation or gumma along 
  regional lymph vessels, no pain

Laboratory
• Culture at 2 temperatures: 25° C (form hypha) and 
  37° C (form spores), dimorphic fungi
• Histo PA
- granulomatosis
- "Cigar shape"
- Asteroid body

Management
1. Sol. KJ saturated 5 drops - 50 drops 3 times / day. 
In Surabaya Indonesia wear Jodkalii tablets (1 tablet 
200mg - Kimia Farma) 30mg/kg body weight / day
with milk or fruit drink
2. Ketoconazole tablets
3. Itraconazole Tablets 100-200mg / day
4. Fluconazole tablets
5. Tablet Terbinafin 125-250mg / day
