Squamous Cell Carcinoma
  1. whit basal cell carcinoma, most common human malignancy.
  2. Diagnosis is by biopsy.
  3. Caused by ultraviolet radiation in most cases.
  4. Precursor lesion is actinic keratosis.
  5. Treatment options are excision, mohs microscopically controlled surgery, and radiation.

Basal Cell Carcinoma
  1. Most common cancer in humans.
  2. Caused by exposure to ultraviolet light: associated with PTCH gene mutation in many cases.
  3. Incidence increasing in younger populations.
  4. Locally destructive.
  5. Treated by surgical excision, electrodesiccation and curettage, Mohs surgery, and occasionally irradiation.
