
CAUSE :
Herpes simplex virus
HSV 1 → oral form labial >>
HSV 2 → genital form >>
CLINICAL
- Hordes of vesicles on red base (Ø 1-2 mm, central umbilicated (+)
- Infection oralabial : lips, mouth, chin, around the nostrils, pharynx
- Genital Infection : can on all the genital area
Men : shaft and glans penis >>
Women : labium major and minor >>
Friendly : perianal
CLINICAL TRAVEL
Primary infection
- More severe, longer, wider
- Female genetalia externa → vagina, cervix
- Infection oralabial: pharynx, tongue, palate, lips → skin
- Can be accompanied by malaise, fever, limphadenopati, affected tissue edema
- Recovers within ± 2 weeks.
Recurrent infections
- Trigger factors: fever, fatigue, stress, menstruation, sunlight exposure.
- Preceded pain, burning, tingling → lesions hordes → crusts formed in 4-5 days
- Normally limited to areas innervated mucocutaneous affected nerve.
LATENT PHASE:
Clinical signs (-), viral (+), but not active in the dorsal ganglion.
THERAPY
antivirus → acyclovir
